Designed by the legendary firearms engineer John Browning and produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company beginning in 1903, the pistol was chambered primarily in .32 ACP (with a closely related 1908 variant in .380 ACP). Despite its name, the “Pocket Hammerless” does in fact have a hammer, but it is fully enclosed within the slide, giving the pistol a smooth, snag-free profile ideal for discreet carry in a coat pocket or holster.
