Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington Model 6 is a takedown, single-shot rolling-block rifle that was introduced in 1901 and remained in production until 1933, with approximately 498,000 units manufactured. The original design was developed by W. Hartley, E. Rivers, and E. Beach, and later refined by C.C. Loomis in the Improved Model 6. Chambered for .22 Short, .22 Long, .22 Long Rifle, .32 Short, and .32 Long cartridges, the rifle was produced in multiple grades throughout its production: the original Model 6 (1901–1903), the New Model Improved (1903–1929), and the Improved Model 6 (1929–1933). Its takedown construction facilitated easy disassembly and transport, making it a practical and versatile choice for early 20th-century hunters and sport shooters.
