Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Browning Superposed Field Grade, chambered in 12 Gauge with a 2 ¾" chamber, is a classic over/under shotgun that has stood the test of time as a symbol of both craftsmanship and innovation. First introduced in 1931, this Belgian-made shotgun was groundbreaking, as it was one of the earliest over/under designs with a single-select trigger, a feature that made it incredibly popular with both competitive shooters and hunters. The 26-inch vent ribbed barrel of the Superposed ensures excellent accuracy and minimal recoil, making it perfect for everything from upland bird hunting to clay shooting. The silver bead front sight allows for quick target acquisition, ensuring that the shooter can focus on fast-moving targets with precision. The blue finish enhances the shotgun's appearance, offering a sleek, traditional look that has become synonymous with high-quality firearms.

The stock of the Superposed Field Grade is crafted from checkered walnut, providing a secure and comfortable grip for the shooter. The round knob pistol grip and checkered forearm are designed for a solid, controlled hold, whether you're taking quick follow-up shots or setting up for a longer shot. This shotgun was the last firearm designed by the legendary John Browning before his passing, with his son Val A. Browning completing the design work after his father’s death. The Superposed was initially produced between 1931 and 1940, with a variety of grades offered, including the Grade I, Pigeon, Diana, and Midas models. Despite its original high cost, the Superposed became highly regarded due to its fine craftsmanship, superior engineering, and innovative design. After World War II, production resumed in 1948 and continued until 1960, when significant changes were made to the model. Even with these updates, the Browning Superposed remains an iconic and highly collectible firearm, revered by shotgun enthusiasts and collectors alike.
