The Colt Single Action Army (SAA), often referred to as the Peacemaker or Model P, is an iconic single-action revolver with a revolving cylinder that holds six metallic cartridges. Initially designed for the U.S. government's 1873 service revolver trials by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company, it became the standard issue military revolver until 1892. Over the years, the SAA has become one of the most replicated and modified revolvers in history, as its design and popularity have made it a timeless symbol of the American West. Despite its historical significance, Colt ceased production of the Single Action Army at the onset of World War II to focus on wartime orders, leading to a hiatus in manufacturing.
