Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington Model 725 ADL, produced from 1958 to 1961, was an improved version of the earlier Model 721 and 722 rifles. Designed by Wayne Leek and Charlie Campbell, it featured a Monte Carlo-style walnut stock with checkering, a hinged floorplate, and an oversized three-position safety—design elements that later influenced the iconic Model 700. Built on a long-action receiver even for shorter cartridges, the 725 ADL was chambered in several calibers, including .222 Remington, .243 Winchester, .244 Remington, .270 Winchester, .280 Remington, and .30-06 Springfield. Barrel lengths were 22 inches for most calibers, and 24 inches for the .222 Remington, with a 4-round internal magazine. Production numbers varied by caliber: 7,657 in .30-06 Springfield, 2,818 in .270 Winchester, 2,784 in .280 Remington, 998 in .243 Winchester, 840 in .244 Remington, 1,478 in .222 Remington, and very low numbers of Kodiak magnums (.375 H&H: 28 units, .458 Win Mag: 24 units), totaling around 16,635 rifles. Its combination of quality craftsmanship, elegant design, and functional reliability has made the Model 725 ADL a prized collectible, especially in its rarer calibers.
