Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The FN Baby Browning is a compact .25 ACP (6.35mm) semi-automatic pistol introduced by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in 1931. Designed by Dieudonné Saive, it was a refinement of John Browning's earlier FN Model 1905, incorporating features like a thumb safety and magazine safety. Despite Browning's passing in 1926, the pistol was marketed under his name, leveraging his established reputation. Approximately 550,000 units were produced by FN from 1931 to 1979, including special editions like the Renaissance and Lightweight models. The Lightweight version featured a 6061 T6 aluminum frame and a chrome-plated slide, offering a lighter alternative to the standard steel-framed model. The Baby Browning was imported into the United States by Browning Arms Company from 1954 until 1968, gaining popularity for its size and reliability. U.S. imports ceased following the Gun Control Act of 1968, though European production continued until 1979.
