Introduced in 1966, the Winchester 94 Centennial 66 was the first big commemorative issue that paved the way for the long series of commemorative lever-action rifles! The Winchester Centennial was offered in both 26" and 20" models.

In 1966, to mark its 100th anniversary, the Winchester Repeating Arms Company produced a distinctive Centennial edition of the Model 94. These commemorative rifles were built on post-1964 actions and featured gold-plated receivers and forend caps, brass curved buttplates, saddle rings, and heavy octagon barrels with full-length magazines finished in a deep polish and blue. Offered in both 26-inch rifle and 20-inch carbine configurations, with some sets produced in consecutive serial numbers, the Centennial ’66 was styled to recall the classic brass-framed Winchester 1866 “Yellow Boy.” This release became Winchester’s first major commemorative lever-action series and set the pattern for many special-edition rifles that followed.
