The Smith & Wesson Model 61-2 Escort is a compact rimfire handgun produced by Smith & Wesson during the late 1960s and early 1970s, designed primarily as a lightweight and easily carried defensive or trail pistol. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the Model 61 Escort series was created to provide shooters with a small, easily concealable semi-automatic pistol that still maintained the quality and engineering associated with Smith & Wesson firearms of the era.
