Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Smith & Wesson Model 25-2 is a classic double/single-action revolver, renowned for its robust performance and iconic design, particularly favored by collectors and enthusiasts of large-caliber handguns. Chambered in .45 ACP, the Model 25-2 features a 6.5-inch ribbed and pinned barrel that provides both excellent accuracy and a sleek aesthetic. The blue finish gives the revolver a polished, durable appearance, while the ribbed barrel helps reduce weight and maintain balance. The revolver is built on the N-Frame, known for its strength and ability to handle powerful calibers like the .45 ACP, and it includes a six-shot fluted cylinder that accommodates .45 ACP cartridges, with the option of using half-moon clips for easy loading and unloading.

The revolver's sights include a 1/8-inch Patridge front sight paired with a micrometer-click rear sight, allowing for precise adjustments and reliable aiming. Its checkered target-style grips, adorned with S&W medallions and diamond inserts, provide a comfortable and secure hold for shooters, especially during prolonged use. The Model 25-2 was initially introduced in 1955, and although it was chambered in both .45 ACP and .45 Colt, the .45 ACP version was the more common configuration until the .45 Colt variation was reintroduced in 1977 with the 125th Commemorative edition. Early production models of the 25-2 were marked "45 CAL. MODEL 1955," while later models bore the "45 Colt CTG" marking. With its combination of powerful performance, smooth action, and distinctive design, the Model 25-2 remains a highly regarded revolver, especially among collectors due to its rarity and historical significance.
