Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt Peacemaker .22 “G-Series” was introduced in 1970, beginning with serial number G10001, and marked a major advancement in Colt’s rimfire single-action revolvers by closely replicating the construction and appearance of the full-size Single Action Army. Unlike earlier .22 models, the G-Series Peacemaker featured a steel receiver and loading gate finished in color case hardening, paired with a blued aluminum alloy grip frame, giving it a more authentic and substantial feel. It was equipped with traditional fixed sights and shipped either with a .22 LR cylinder alone or as a dual-cylinder set including both .22 LR and .22 Magnum, with no Magnum-only versions produced. Barrel lengths were offered in 4 3/4 inches (later shortened to 4.4 inches), 6 inches, and 7 1/2 inches, all with rounded crowns. Early Magnum cylinders were fluted before they transitioned to unfluted examples in mid-1971. G-Series Peacemakers were originally packaged in a distinctive two-piece yellow Colt box with a white bottom, unique to this series; in 1973–1974, packaging was updated to Styrofoam boxes with wood-grain outer paper sleeves similar to other Colt firearms of the era. Produced from 1970 to 1977, these revolvers have become highly prized by collectors for their exceptional craftsmanship, authentic Single Action Army styling, and historical significance, making them a standout addition to any Colt or firearm collection.
