Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Browning Citori is one of the most respected over-and-under shotguns ever produced, admired for its craftsmanship, durability, and versatility. This particular example, chambered in 20 gauge with 3" capability, features 26-inch vent-ribbed barrels topped with a silver bead front sight, making it an ideal balance of portability and smooth target acquisition. Its blued finish complements the richly checkered walnut English-style stock, blending functionality with timeless elegance. The break-action, over-under configuration offers the shooter both reliability and precision, qualities that have made the Citori a favorite among hunters and sport shooters alike. Lightweight and well-balanced, this 20-gauge model is particularly well-suited for upland bird hunting, delivering manageable recoil with plenty of power and patterning consistency. Introduced in 1973 and built by Miroku in Japan for Browning, the Citori quickly established itself as a worthy successor to the legendary Browning Superposed. Its robust action and tight lock-up are engineered to withstand decades of use, often making these shotguns heirloom pieces passed down through generations. The Citori line spans many variations—from the classic Hunter and Lightning field models to competition-ready 725 and CX configurations—each catering to specific shooting disciplines while maintaining the same core qualities of balance, reliability, and fine craftsmanship. This 20-gauge Citori embodies the model’s legacy as a refined yet practical shotgun, equally at home in the field or on the clays range, and continues to stand as a benchmark in over-under shotgun design.
