Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt Lawman MKIII was designed as a rugged, fixed-sight service revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, offering law enforcement officers and civilian shooters a dependable sidearm with straightforward functionality. Early production models featured a narrow, grooved service hammer and trigger, along with slim service grips, while later versions adopted the wider target hammer seen on the Trooper Mark III and often came fitted with target grips for improved handling. This particular example features a compact 2-inch barrel with a frame-notched rear sight and a ramped fixed front sight, giving it the handling characteristics of a heavy-duty snubnose revolver. The 2-inch variant also sported a rounded butt with unique grips not found on other Colt revolvers, and while early short-barrel models had an exposed ejector rod like the 4-inch version, later production transitioned to a heavy, shrouded ejector rod for added protection and a more substantial appearance.

Finished in classic Colt blue, this Lawman MKIII retains the company’s signature craftsmanship and attention to detail. The checkered walnut grips with gold Colt medallions add a touch of elegance while ensuring a secure hold. Built with the robust Mark III action, the revolver was engineered for durability under heavy use, capable of handling full-power .357 Magnum loads while maintaining smooth double-action operation. Compact, powerful, and solidly built, the 2-inch Lawman MKIII bridges the gap between a concealable defensive revolver and a service-grade workhorse, making it a standout choice for both collectors and practical shooters alike.
