Item Description
Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this semi-automatic rifle today for a penny-start auction; this is the Heckler & Koch 300!
SPECIFICATIONS:
Manufacturer: Heckler & Koch
Model: 300
Serial: 020929
Date of Manufacture: 1981
Caliber: .22 WMR
Finish: Blue
Barrel Length: 20"
Optics/Sights: Blade Front with Open Blade Rear / Scope Rings
Stock/Grips: Checkered Walnut
Action: Semi-Automatic
Markings: Standard
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The HK300 might be called a ‘de-luxe’ version of the HK270; it is built to take a more powerful cartridge, but retains the same basic blowback mechanism and is generally to a higher standard of fit and finish. The manufacturers claim that it is ‘specially intended for the close season and for hunting small predatory game and controlling stray domestic animals.’ The stock of walnut, well checkered and oil-finished, and with a cheek rest on the butt. The barrel is somewhat heavier than that of HK270, as befits the heavier cartridge, but the bolt mechanism is basically the same. The sights comprise a front blade set on a ramp and adjustable for elevation, and an open blade rearsight adjustable for windage. The receiver top is slotted to take the HK05 universal telescope mount, which can be attached or removed in seconds, firmly locked in place by a lever, and retains the zero whenever replaced. As with other German designs, there is a two-round magazine for the domestic market and five or 15-round models for export.
