The owner states that this example remains New Old Stock, and we see no evidence to indicate otherwise.
This exceptional Colt Silver Star — serial number SS00003 — is an especially rare and desirable piece from a strictly limited production of only 1,000 units.
According to the owner and common knowledge, Colt kept serial numbers #1 and #2 at the factory. Making this the earliest known example to surface on the open market.
The purpose of this edition was to introduce the stainless steel configuration to Colt’s product line, offering a durable and modern finish. These pistols are uniquely marked with the special rollmark "SILVER STAR 45" on the left side of the slide and were processed under Colt Factory Order Number 11631, making them a distinctive and collectible variation within the Colt lineup.
