Manufactured in 1986, the first year of production, the Colt Mustang was introduced as a more compact counterpart to the .380 Government Model, offering familiar Colt styling in a highly concealable package. First Edition pistols were limited to the initial 1,000 produced, and this example—bearing the early MU0345 serial number—falls within the first 100 manufactured, underscoring its collector significance. The slide is marked “MUSTANG” flanked by dual Rampant Colt logos and fitted with integral blade front and fixed notch rear sights, while the frame retains its original walnut grips with Colt medallions, making this a standout early-production example of Colt’s modern .380 revival.
