Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Heckler & Koch P7 is a German-made 9x19mm semi-automatic pistol designed by Helmut Weddle and manufactured by Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K) from 1979 to 2008. It was first introduced to the public in 1976 under the designation PSP (Polizei-Selbstlade-Pistole, or "police self-loading pistol"). The P7M8 is a variant of the P7, featuring several key upgrades, such as a larger trigger guard, a lengthened trigger, a heat shield, and a thumb-operated magazine release. Other enhancements include a larger rear sight dovetail, a protruding firing pin bushing, and a lanyard ring. Production of the P7M8 began in 1983 and continued until 2007, with a final run of 500 P7M8 pistols produced in 2007 under the AH date code. These final pistols were marked on the right side of the slide with the inscription "X of 500" to signify their limited production. Apart from the slide marking, no additional features or accessories were added to the standard kit.
