Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this RARE Single-Action revolver today for a penny-start auction; this is the Colt Storekeeper's Model!
The Colt Storekeeper’s Model is a compact variation of the legendary Colt Single Action Army (SAA) revolver, originally conceived in the late 19th century to meet the needs of civilians and professionals who required a more concealable firearm. Characterized by its short barrel, typically 3 to 4 inches, and the absence of an ejector rod, this variant was tailored for discreet carry, particularly by storekeepers, gamblers, and city dwellers who didn’t expect to reload quickly.
The Colt Storekeeper's Model was VERY LIMITED production run, with only approximately only 280 PRODUCED, making this an exceptionally RARE and DESIRABLE Colt Single Action Army!

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt Storekeeper’s Model is a rare and compact variation of the iconic Colt Single Action Army (SAA) revolver, designed for discreet carry in urban settings during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. While never an official factory designation, the term “Storekeeper’s Model” was adopted by collectors to describe short-barreled SAA revolvers, typically with 4" barrels and no ejector rod assembly. These guns were favored by shopkeepers, gamblers, and city dwellers who needed a reliable yet easily concealable firearm for self-defense. Historically, early examples were custom-ordered through Colt’s special-order system, and production was extremely limited. Colt officially referred to these short-barreled, ejectorless variants as Sheriff’s Models, a name used in factory records and stamped on factory boxes, even for examples that collectors now call Storekeeper’s Models. The “Sheriff’s Model” generally had a 3" or 3.5" barrel, but some 4" versions exist and are labeled the same, leading to the collector-created term “Storekeeper’s Model” for distinction. During the Third Generation of SAA production (1976 onward), Colt reintroduced these ejectorless revolvers in limited numbers, and boxes continued to bear the official Sheriff’s Model label.
