The Colt Officer’s ACP is Colt’s compact take on the classic M1911 — a single-action, recoil-operated semi-automatic designed specifically for concealed carry and buyers who wanted a factory-built shortened 1911. Introduced in the mid-1980s as Colt’s answer to aftermarket “officer” conversions, the Officer’s ACP keeps the 1911’s controls and feel but scales everything down: a 3½" barrel, shorter overall length and height, and a 6-round magazine capacity instead of the full-size 7 rounds. This particular example (serial SF34790, 1989) wears a mirrored bright polished stainless finish, fixed 3-dot white sights, and genuine stag grips — a blend of classic styling and corrosion resistance that also gives it a slightly dressy, collectible look.
