The Kodiak is one of the world's most sought-after Colt revolvers models! It is more Scarce and Desirable than any other snakes, including the Python, Grizzly, Diamondback, and King Cobra Models!
The Kodiak is a limited-production version of the Anaconda revolver featuring a magna-ported barrel and a non-fluted cylinder. The revolvers in this edition also incorporate the special roll mark “COLT KODIAK / .44 Magnum,” followed by a bear par motif. This edition utilizes the special serial prefix “CKA.”
2,000 units were made in 1993. This example holds serial number CKA1536.

In 1942, Colt discontinued its large-frame double-action revolver, the New Service, and did not produce another large-frame model until the introduction of the Colt Anaconda in 1990. The Anaconda was a stainless steel revolver based on the King Cobra design and featured a transfer bar ignition-safety action. It was built to handle unlimited use of .44 Magnum ammunition, boasting a massive forged frame and cylinder heat treatment for maximum strength. The Anaconda was chambered in .44 Magnum and .45 Long Colt, with barrel lengths of 4", 5" (rare and not cataloged), 6", and 8". Some versions offered Magna-porting, and the right side of the barrel bore unique markings, such as "Double Action Revolver" or ".44 Magnum Cartridge." It came in several finishes, including satin stainless matte, bright polish stainless, and Realtree Camouflage.

The Anaconda was produced from 1990 to 1999, before being reintroduced as a Colt Custom Shop special order model from 2002 to 2006. A more limited, specialized version of this design was the Colt Kodiak, a .44 Magnum revolver manufactured in 1993 in a limited run of around 2,000 units. The Kodiak featured a 4" or 6" Magna-ported barrel, a non-fluted cylinder, and a distinct bear paw marking on the left side of the barrel, along with the inscription "Colt Kodiak .44 Magnum." Serial numbers for the Kodiak began with "CKA," making it a rare collector's piece with unique features tailored for enthusiasts and hunters alike.
