The Smith & Wesson Model 3913 NL is a compact, single-stack 9mm semi-automatic pistol that represents a refined variation of the standard Model 3913, and is part of Smith & Wesson’s well-regarded third-generation semi-automatic pistol lineup, a series known for its improved internal design, enhanced durability, and overall reliability. Distinguished by an angled frame and slide profile rather than the straight-cut design, this subtle but effective change gives the pistol a more streamlined appearance and improved ergonomics, resulting in a more natural point of aim. Built with an aluminum alloy frame and stainless steel slide, the 3913 NL features a durable finish and operates in a traditional double-action, while incorporating several features shared with the LadySmith variant, including a .260" bobbed hammer and a smooth .304" trigger that utilizes rounded edges for improved control and a more refined shooting feel. It is equipped with Novak Lo-Mount white 3-dot sights, a third-style trigger guard, and a right-handed manual safety, all of which contribute to its slim, snag-resistant profile ideal for discreet carry. The pistol features a 3 1/2" barrel, an overall length of approximately 6.8 inches, and an 8-round single-stack magazine, maintaining a lightweight, well-balanced feel at approximately 25 ounces while still offering excellent shootability. 
 
Produced from 1991 to 1994, the 3913 NL effectively bridges the gap between the original 3913 and the 3913LS LadySmith, essentially mirroring many of the LadySmith’s ergonomic and functional enhancements without the LadySmith markings. It remains a highly regarded example of Smith & Wesson’s third-generation compact pistols, valued by enthusiasts and collectors alike for its reliability, slim profile, refined handling characteristics, and clean, understated design.
