The CZ 550 Safari Classics Express / Magnum Express is CZ’s safari-grade take on the Mauser-98–style bolt action: a controlled-feed, double-square-bridge rifle built to handle everything from standard magnum cartridges to true dangerous-game rounds. As a “Safari Classics” model it’s offered in both Express (standard-action) and Magnum Express (magnum-action) configurations and was sold as a semi-custom, custom-grade rifle tailored for big-game and African safari use. Factory features typically include hammer-forged barrels, single-set triggers, express sights, heavy sporter or magnum barrel contours, and fancy walnut stocks with dual crossbolts—options and chamberings were often selected per order, including large calibers such as .375 H&H, .416 variants, .450 Rigby and even very large cartridges for dangerous game.
