Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Beretta Laramie, manufactured by Italy’s A. Uberti and marketed under the Beretta brand, is a modern single-action, top-break revolver modeled after the 19th-century Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 (which was commonly known as the Schofield). It features a sliding-bar automatic safety that, after the hammer falls, positions itself between the hammer and frame, locking the cylinder and barrel latch for safe handling and reloading at half-cock. Chambered in .45 Long Colt or .38 Special, the six-shot Laramie was offered with 5- or 6 1/2-inch barrels, blue or nickel finishes, and a fixed front sight paired with a rear sight integrated into the barrel latch. While the original New Model No. 3 was never offered in .45 Colt, Uberti’s reproduction made use of modern calibers for versatility. Produced from the mid-2000s until its discontinuation in 2008, the Laramie has become a distinctive and collectible revolver prized for its craftsmanship and faithful homage to the Old West classic.
