The Colt Competition Ready CRP-18 is a high-performance rifle specifically designed for competitive shooting, chambered in 5.56 NATO and built to deliver outstanding accuracy, speed, and reliability. At the core of this rifle is its 18-inch match-grade barrel, crafted from polished 416 stainless steel with six grooves and button rifling, offering a 1 in 8" right-hand twist that’s optimized for bullets ranging from 50 to 77 grains. This barrel is capable of chambering both factory-loaded SAAMI spec .223 ammunition and NATO-stamped 5.56x45mm ammo, providing versatility in ammunition selection. The rifle utilizes a gas-operated, direct-impingement system, ensuring guaranteed accuracy while maintaining the rifle's lightweight and fast-cycling properties. The Colt Competition "Triple-Port" Muzzle Brake effectively reduces recoil and muzzle rise, allowing for quick follow-up shots and improved shooter control. Additionally, the CRP-18 features a Colt Competition 15" vented modular float-tube handguard, which provides excellent heat dissipation and accommodates various accessories, including a full-length Picatinny rail for optics or other attachments and a 1–2" accessory rail for additional customization.
