The Colt AR-15 9mm Carbine (AR6951) is a closed-bolt, blowback-operated rifle chambered in the popular 9mm caliber, designed to deliver familiar AR-15 ergonomics with reduced recoil and enhanced controllability. At its core is a straight-line operating system that, when combined with the mild recoil characteristics of 9mm ammunition, minimizes muzzle rise and promotes accurate, controllable fire, while also making the platform well-suited for training and extended-range use. Operation and handling closely mirror those of the Colt M16A2/A4 Rifle, Colt M4 Carbine, and Colt Commando Carbine, allowing shooters already trained on AR platforms to transition seamlessly. The rifle is built around a 16.1-inch chrome-lined barrel with six grooves and a 1:10-inch right-hand twist, finished with an A2-style flash hider to preserve ballistic performance and reduce muzzle signature. Sighting equipment consists of an adjustable A2 post front sight paired with a flip-up Magpul MBUS rear sight mounted on a flat-top upper receiver, providing flexibility for iron sights and optics. A collapsible buttstock allows adjustment of length of pull to accommodate different shooters and shooting conditions, while standard AR-style polymer furniture ensures a secure and familiar grip. Easily field stripped without special tools and finished in matte black, the Colt AR-15 9mm Carbine offers a lightweight, reliable pistol-caliber carbine built on Colt’s proven AR heritage.
