Schofield for one-handed operation on horseback, the original Second Model Schofield featured a redesigned frame-mounted latch that could be operated with the thumb and a top-break action that ejected all six spent cartridges at once, making it far faster to reload than traditional gate-loaded revolvers — improvements that earned it favor among U.S. Cavalry soldiers and legendary figures of the Old West such as Jesse James, John Wesley Hardin, and Pat Garrett. This reproduction is meticulously crafted with modern Italian workmanship while honoring every detail of the original design. It is built on a robust forged steel frame with a deep, lustrous blue finish and select color case-hardened components, complemented by smooth two-piece walnut grips for both comfort and classic elegance.
