Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Modern Ruger Redhawk revolvers are known for their powerful big-bore cartridges, such as the .44 Magnum, .45 Colt, and .45 ACP, but the latest addition to their lineup—the .41 Magnum—has captured a unique niche in the firearms world. In collaboration with Davidson’s, Ruger has introduced two revolvers chambered in this potent caliber, each designed for specific purposes. The larger of the two features a 4.2" barrel, a large ramp front sight with a red insert, and an adjustable rear sight. It is equipped with a Hogue Monogrip for a secure, comfortable hold and weighs in at 48 ounces unloaded. While not a lightweight gun, it offers a solid, robust feel that enthusiasts of the Redhawk series will appreciate. The smaller model, designed for concealed carry, has a 2.75" barrel and slim wood grips, offering a more compact option while still packing the power of the .41 Magnum. Despite its smaller size, it weighs only slightly less at 47 ounces.

The .41 Magnum cartridge, first introduced by Remington in 1964, was designed to fill the gap between the .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum, offering a potent round for both law enforcement and hunting applications. Developed with the influence of Elmer Keith, the .41 Magnum is known for its ability to handle heavier bullet weights ranging from 180 to 210 grains, delivering impressive performance, particularly for hunting medium to large game. While it's less common than its .44 Magnum counterpart, the .41 Magnum has carved out a loyal following among enthusiasts who appreciate its unique balance of power and accuracy. Though it was originally marketed as a self-defense and law enforcement round, today it remains a popular choice among hunters and handloaders. Ruger’s Redhawk revolvers chambered in .41 Magnum offer both collectors and serious shooters a powerful and versatile option for those seeking something beyond the more common calibers.
