The Ruger SR-762 is a piston-driven, AR-10–style semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO (.308 Winchester), offering the power of a .30-caliber cartridge in a compact, modern sporting rifle platform. Built on hard-coat anodized aluminum receivers with a black finish, it features a 16.12-inch cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined, fluted barrel made of 41V45 chrome-moly-vanadium steel, with a 1:10" twist rate and 5/8x24 muzzle threads capped by a flash suppressor. Its chrome-plated, two-stage short-stroke piston system with a multi-position gas regulator helps ensure cooler, cleaner, and more reliable operation. For ergonomics, Ruger equipped the SR-762 with a six-position collapsible polymer buttstock, a polymer pistol grip, and a lightweight free-float aluminum handguard with a full-length Picatinny rail and modular sections for accessories.
