The Heckler & Koch SP5 is a civilian-legal semi-automatic version of the famous Heckler & Koch MP5 produced by Heckler & Koch and manufactured in Germany to closely replicate the original military and law-enforcement design. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, the SP5 operates using the same roller-delayed blowback system that made the MP5 legendary for its smooth recoil impulse, exceptional reliability, and excellent accuracy for a firearm of its type. This operating system, originally derived from the engineering concepts used in the Heckler & Koch G3, uses rollers in the bolt assembly to delay rearward movement during firing, resulting in a softer shooting experience compared to many simple blowback firearms.
