*LIVE* 1982 Colt Trooper Mark V .357 Mag Blue 6" *RARE LOW PRODUCTION MODEL*

Bryant Ridge's Analysis

In 1982, Colt released an upgraded version of their successful Mark III series, known as the Mark V series. The new "V" frame model had several major changes from its predecessor. These changes included the replacement of the sintered steel hammer and trigger with cast steel, the introduction of Colt's first short action which resulted in a shorter hammer fall, the replacement of the mainspring, mainspring guide, and location of the mainspring seat with a longer spring and guide, and the introduction of a new rounded profile grip frame.

The grips were changed to a full wrap-around design with a covered back strap. The barrel also saw changes, with Python-like vents in the rib. This premium version had adjustable sights, a Target hammer, a Target trigger, and Target grips and it was available in barrel lengths of 4 inches, 6 inches, and 8 inches, with a red front sight insert. The finishes available were bright blue, bright nickel, and satin Electroless nickel, also known as "Coltguard". The caliber was .357 Magnum. The goal of these changes was to improve the trigger pull and enhance overall performance.
