*SOLD* 1972 Colt Frontier Scout .22LR Blue *FLORIDA TERRITORY SESQUICENTENNIAL*
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
This stunning Florida Colt Frontier Scout is designed to honor 150 years since Florida became a US Territory. The revolver is chambered in .22 Long Rifle and comes with a beautifully crafted presentation case, making it a fitting tribute to the Sunshine State. Whether you are seeking another exceptional .22 shooter or aiming to fill a gap in your collection, this piece is sure to impress. The Territory of Florida was an organized, incorporated territory of the United States that existed from March 30, 1822, until March 3, 1845, when it was admitted to the Union as the State of Florida. It originally comprised the major portion of the Spanish territory of La Florida, and later the provinces of East Florida and West Florida. The territory was ceded to the United States as part of the 1819 Adams–Onís Treaty, and it was governed by the Florida Territorial Council.
The Colt Single Action Army (the SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, or M1873) is a single-action revolver handgun. It was designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company (today known as Colt's Manufacturing Company). The Colt SAA has been offered in over 30 calibers and various barrel lengths. Its overall appearance has remained consistent since 1873. Colt has canceled its production twice but brought it back due to popular demand. The revolver was dubbed the "Peacemaker" and is a famous piece of Americana and the American Wild West era due to its popularity with ranchers, lawmen, and outlaws alike. Today, they are mainly bought as memorabilia by collectors and re-enactors. Its design has influenced the production of numerous other models from other companies. The SAA, at one time or another, was offered in dozens of calibers from .22 rimfire to .476 Eley, though the .45 Colt has always been the most common. A scaled-down .22 rimfire version called the Scout or Frontier Scout was available in the late 20th century.
