Reportedly, this pistol was initially called the Mini-gun, with its design strongly influenced by the Devel custom pistol. It marked a significant step in S&W's development of a full power compact sized auto-loader. Weight is 26 ounces. Reported that standard production may have begun at s/n A840000 but not confirmed.
