*SOLD* 1989 Browning Model 65 .218BEE Blue 24" *GRADE I LIMITED EDITION-ONLY 3500*
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Browning Model 65 Grade I Limited Edition is a finely crafted lever-action rifle that pays tribute to the classic Winchester Model 65, offering both aesthetic appeal and shooting performance in a refined package. Manufactured in 1989 only, with a total production of just 3,500 units, this limited edition is chambered in the distinctive .218 Bee cartridge—a flat-shooting, centerfire round favored for small game and varmint hunting. The rifle features a 24-inch round tapered barrel finished in a deep, polished blue, paired with open sights, including a hooded bead-blade front and adjustable rear sight for precise targeting. At 6¾ pounds, it offers excellent balance and pointability for both field use and display.
Crafted in Japan by Miroku to Browning’s high standards, the Model 65 Grade I uses a solid lever-action mechanism and is fed by a 7-round tubular magazine beneath the barrel. Its uncheckered walnut stock features a classic pistol grip and semi-beavertail forearm, capped with a traditional metal buttplate—a nod to vintage design aesthetics. The lack of checkering gives it a smooth, clean look, enhancing its visual appeal while maintaining a functional grip. Standard factory markings and the elegant lines of the receiver complete its classic profile. While less ornate than the High Grade variant, the Grade I is prized for its clean styling, excellent workmanship, and limited production. Today, well-preserved examples—especially those with original boxes and paperwork—are highly sought after by collectors and lever-action enthusiasts alike, embodying a perfect blend of nostalgia, precision, and quality.
