*SOLD* Dornaus & Dixon Bren Ten 10mm Stainless 5" *LIMITED PRODUCTION MODEL*

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:

The Dornaus & Dixon Bren Ten is one of the most iconic and elusive pistols of the 1980s, conceived as the ultimate combat sidearm. Designed with direct input from legendary firearms expert Col. Jeff Cooper, the Bren Ten was based on the CZ-75 platform but took inspiration from the 1911 in its ability to be carried “cocked and locked” in single-action mode. Chambered in the then-novel 10mm Auto cartridge, the pistol offered a unique blend of power, accuracy, and tactical flexibility, featuring both double-action and single-action operation. Its robust stainless-steel construction, white 3-dot sights, and ergonomic synthetic grips further emphasized its role as a serious defensive and combat handgun.

Despite the innovation behind the Bren Ten, its commercial journey was marred by production issues, inconsistent parts availability, and financial instability. Only about 1,500 pistols were manufactured between 1983 and 1986 before Dornaus & Dixon filed for bankruptcy. Nevertheless, the pistol gained pop culture notoriety as the sidearm of Sonny Crockett in the first two seasons of Miami Vice, cementing its status as a cult classic. Today, the Bren Ten is highly prized among collectors and enthusiasts, representing both the ambitious vision of Jeff Cooper and a cautionary tale of overpromised execution in firearm manufacturing.
