*SOLD* H&R Arms 922 .22 LR Blue 4" *CLASSIC DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER*
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
H&R 1871, LLC, or more commonly known as Harrington & Richardson, is an American brand of firearms and a subsidiary of JJE Capital Holdings. H&R ceased production on February 27, 2015. Frank Wesson, brother of Daniel B. Wesson, who co-founded Smith & Wesson, started a firearms manufacturing firm in 1859, sharing an early patent with Nathan Harrington. Wesson produced two-trigger rifles and spur-trigger pistols, as well as pocket rifles/shotguns popular for short-length holster models, such as the discontinued topper compact pocket shotguns. He started a brief partnership in 1871 with Harrington's nephew, Gilbert Henderson Harrington, as Wesson & Harrington until Harrington bought him out in 1874.
The Harrington & Richardson Model 922 is a classic double-action revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle, a cartridge known for its versatility and low recoil. Featuring a 4-inch barrel, the Model 922 strikes a practical balance between accuracy and compactness, making it suitable for both target practice and small game dispatching. Its fixed blade front sight and square notch rear sight provide a basic yet effective aiming system, aligning with the revolver’s utilitarian design. The 9-shot capacity offers a solid advantage for plinking or extended range sessions without frequent reloading.
Finished in a deep blue, the Model 922 has a traditional look that reflects its mid-century American origins. The checkered synthetic grips with H&R logos provide a secure hold, even during extended use, while also offering a touch of branding heritage. Built with simplicity and durability in mind, the 922 was a popular choice for recreational shooters and farmers alike, thanks to its reliability, ease of maintenance, and affordable cost. As a product of H&R’s long-standing reputation for no-frills, hardworking firearms, the Model 922 remains a valued example of economical American revolver craftsmanship.
