*SOLD* H&R Model 999 Sportsman .22 LR Blue *INCREDIBLE TOP-BREAK 9-SHOT REVOLVER*
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The H&R Model 999 Sportsman is a distinguished .22 Long Rifle revolver that combines functionality and affordability, making it a popular choice for recreational shooters, small game hunters, and those in need of a reliable firearm for outdoor activities. Manufactured by Harrington & Richardson from 1932 until the company’s closure in 1986, the Model 999 quickly gained recognition for its innovative features, notably its top-break design. The revolver's 6" solid fluted barrel and blue finish provide a sleek and durable appearance, while the blade front sight paired with the adjustable rear sight ensures a precise and customizable shooting experience. As a nine-shot revolver, the Model 999 offered more capacity than the typical six-round revolvers of the time, which was a key selling point for many users.
Designed for both utility and ease of use, the Model 999's top-break action was particularly appealing, allowing users to quickly eject spent casings and reload. The barrel assembly would pivot on the frame once the adjustable rear sight was lifted, and an ejector would spring into action to remove the cartridges, making it both practical and user-friendly. The revolver was chambered for .22 Long Rifle, though it was also capable of handling .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 WRF cartridges, offering greater versatility for various types of ammunition. The checkered walnut grips, adorned with the H&R medallions, provide a solid and comfortable hold while adding an element of class to the revolver’s appearance. Although the Model 999 ceased production after the original H&R company went out of business, it remains a beloved piece of firearms history, known for its quality, reliability, and design that appealed to a wide range of users.
