*SOLD* Llama Max-I 45 C/F .45ACP Blue 4.25" *AWESOME SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL*

Bryant Ridge's Analysis

The Para-Ordnance high-capacity 1911-type pistols were incredibly popular and their success led to design changes in some models from 1994 onwards. One of these models was the Llama IX-C which was produced between 1994 and 1997. This pistol was similar to the Llama IX-A but had a 12-round double-column magazine. The large-framed pistol had a 5+1⁄8-inch barrel and was 8+1⁄2 inches long overall, with a height of 5+9⁄16 inches. It featured a special Swartz safety, which was first introduced by Colt in the 1930s, to prevent accidental discharge when the pistol was dropped on a hard surface. The arched mainspring housing was reduced in size to allow for a better grip for normal-sized hands, due to the thickness of the magazine well. After the US Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act was passed in 1994, magazine capacity was limited to 10 rounds and minor changes were made to the shape of the hammer and safety.

In 1995, the MAX-1 pistol was released, which was Llama's equivalent to the Colt Government model. This model was closer in design to the Colt 1911-A1 than any previous Llama model, and some traditional Llama features, such as the ventilated rib, were removed. However, the slimmer mainspring housing from the IX-C was retained, which was considered by smaller-handed shooters to give this model superior handling qualities. The ban on the import of Chinese weapons contributed to the success of this model in the low-cost "1911 clone" market, although some aftermarket 1911 accessories had compatibility issues.
