*SOLD* Mauser 1914 Third Variant .32 ACP Blue 3" *AMAZING GERMAN PRODUCED PISTOL*
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Mauser Model 1914 is a semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Mauser, designed as an evolution of the .25 caliber Model 1910 created by Josef Nickl. Chambered in .32 ACP, the Model 1914 was introduced in 1914 and eventually succeeded by the simpler Model 1934 in 1934. Throughout both World Wars, the Model 1914 was utilized by the German police and military forces. The initial variant of the Model 1910, known as the “Side Latch,” featured a rotating side latch above the trigger, which allowed for the removal of the side cover for cleaning. However, this design posed challenges during reassembly due to the spring pressure on the trigger. The “New Model,” often referred to as the “Model 1910/14,” addressed these issues and was introduced in 1914. This updated version streamlined field stripping and incorporated several improvements, including enhancements to the interrupter mechanism and the magazine and slide stop mechanisms. Additionally, the New Model's modified striker mechanism made it easier to check if the pistol was cocked.
The Model 1914 was a single-action, striker-fired pistol with a trigger mechanism connected to a bell crank lever. This lever rotated to disengage from the striker sear, allowing the striker to move forward under spring pressure to discharge the cartridge. The Model 1914’s action closely mirrored that of the New Model 6.35mm pistols, featuring similar advancements in the trigger and interrupter mechanisms, as well as magazine features that held the slide open when the magazine was empty and prevented firing if the magazine was removed.
