The Para-Ordnance C6.45 LDA, commonly known as the “Para-Carry,” is a compact, semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP and designed specifically for concealed carry. Manufactured by Para-Ordnance, a Canadian firearms company established in 1985 by Ted Szabo and Thanos Polyzos, the C6.45 LDA emerged in the early 2000s as part of the company’s innovative Light Double Action (LDA) series. This series was notable for incorporating a smooth double-action-only trigger system into a 1911-style platform, offering a consistent trigger pull while retaining the ergonomics and reliability of the classic 1911. The LDA mechanism addressed safety concerns often associated with single-action pistols carried cocked and locked, making it a popular choice among law enforcement and civilian concealed carry users. Despite its compact size, it maintains a 6-round magazine capacity and delivers the powerful stopping performance of the .45 ACP round. Para-Ordnance was known for pushing the boundaries of the traditional 1911 design, pioneering high-capacity double-stack frames and modern trigger systems, and the C6.45 LDA exemplifies this legacy. In 2012, Para-Ordnance was acquired by the Remington Outdoor Company, and the brand was eventually phased out by 2015. Nevertheless, the C6.45 LDA “Para-Carry” remains a respected and collectible example of late-era 1911 innovation, bridging tradition with tactical practicality.
 
This Para-Ordnance C6.45 LDA features a short 3-inch stainless steel barrel and a corrosion-resistant stainless finish, paired with 3-dot sights for rapid target acquisition. Its genuine ivory grips not only provide a classic aesthetic but also enhance grip control. What truly distinguishes this model from others is its extensive and finely detailed scroll engraved artwork, which adorns the top and sides of the slide, both sides of the frame, the dust cover, front strap, and even the bottom of the trigger guard, elevating it from a functional sidearm to a collector’s piece.
