The receiver is milled from a solid billet of steel for maximum strength, and twin action bars prevent binding and twisting during cycling. The shotgun offers excellent pointing characteristics, allowing for instinctive target acquisition and fluid swinging. The Remington Model 870 Express Super Magnum Pump-Action Shotgun comes with a virtually indestructible black synthetic stock and fore-end, a matte, bead-blasted finish on the receiver and barrel, a vent rib, and a premium vented recoil pad to dampen recoil and facilitate faster follow-up shots.
