*SOLD* Savage Arms 219B .22 Hornet Blue 26" *OLD-SCHOOL SINGLE-SHOT RIFLE*
Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Savage Arms Model 219 is a single-shot, break-action rifle first introduced in 1938 and manufactured until 1965. Valued for its straightforward design, reliability, and affordability, the 219 was offered in a range of calibers including .22 Hornet, .25-20 WCF, .32-20 WCF, and .30-30 Winchester. It typically featured a 26-inch barrel, open sights, and a break-open action with a top lever release, paired with a plain walnut pistol grip stock. Unlike many single-shots of the era, the Model 219 had a concealed hammer, giving it a sleek profile. Over time, Savage introduced multiple variants, including one with a side lever opening system. The Model 219B, in particular, incorporated a redesigned receiver with internal enhancements for greater strength and reliability. Savage also expanded the platform with combination models—such as the 221, 222, 223, 227, 228, and 229—which paired rifle and shotgun barrels for added versatility in the field. The Model 219 shared its basic action with the Savage Model 220 shotgun, and earlier versions allowed for limited interchangeability of barrels, though design revisions in later years reduced this compatibility. Though plain in appearance, the Model 219 gained lasting respect among hunters and farmers for its practical performance and rugged construction.
