*SOLD* Smith Wesson 59 9mm Blue 4" *RELIABLE SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL*

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:

The Smith & Wesson Model 59 is a historically notable double-action semi-automatic pistol, produced between 1972 and 1981. It was developed as an evolution of the earlier Model 39, incorporating a wider frame to accommodate a high-capacity, 14-round double-stack magazine—an innovative feature at the time. Initially designed to meet U.S. Navy requirements for a large-capacity combat pistol, the Model 59 directly descends from the Model 39 and shares lineage with the suppressed Mark 22 "Hush Puppy" pistol used by Navy SEALs. The Model 59 helped pioneer the modern trend of high-capacity 9mm handguns, making it influential in both military and civilian markets.

This particular Model 59 features a blued finish, a 4-inch barrel, and a set of factory optics composed of a serrated blade front sight and an adjustable rear—though the rear sight blade is currently missing. The checkered synthetic grips offer a firm hold, and the double-action/single-action system provides flexibility for both defensive and range use. Though no longer in production, the Model 59 remains a key milestone in Smith & Wesson’s semi-automatic pistol lineup and is valued by collectors for its role in the development of modern high-capacity sidearms.
