Bryant Ridge's Analysis

Trocaola, Aranzabal y Cia. was a Spanish firearms company that existed from before World War I until the Spanish Civil War. During the war, many companies went out of business, and later, Franco ordered several others to close down in an attempt to improve the image of Spanish guns in the world market. TAC was among the better brands of Smith & Wesson clones produced in Spain from approximately 1920-1936. These guns were imported into the United States in high volumes, to the point where they almost put Smith & Wesson out of business. Despite their outward resemblance to S&W firearms, they have more in common with Colt lockwork internally.
