Item Description
This example will ship with its original WWII-era wooden transit chest for the Bren light machine gun. It is designed to securely store and transport the Bren. This example being serialized makes this a lot more desirable and sought after by collectors.
The Bren gun (Brno–Enfield) was a British-licensed light machine gun developed in the 1930s from the Czechoslovak ZB series and remained an important infantry LMG through World War II, the Korean War, and into the late 20th century. Recognizable by its top-mounted curved magazine, quick-change barrel, and conical flash hider, the Bren was adaptable—bipod-, tripod-, or vehicle-mounted—and many were later re-barrelled in the 1950s to 7.62×51mm NATO and redesignated in Commonwealth service as the L4. Eventually supplanted in the section and general-purpose roles by belt-fed GPMGs and smaller-caliber support weapons, the Bren continued limited service on vehicle mounts and was even produced by Indian Ordnance Factories until its final discontinuation.
