The Browning B-80 Ducks Unlimited “The Plains” is a special-edition semi-automatic shotgun created as part of Browning’s long-running partnership with Ducks Unlimited, celebrating wetlands conservation and the heritage of American waterfowling. Built during the early 1980s when Browning collaborated with Beretta, the B-80 line combined Browning styling with Beretta’s proven gas-operated action, resulting in a lightweight, soft-shooting, and highly reliable field gun. The “Plains” edition was released as a limited-production commemorative and typically features attractive receiver artwork, Ducks Unlimited engravings, and select walnut stocks—giving it a more refined and collectible appearance compared to standard B-80 models. Like all B-80s, it benefits from excellent balance, quick handling, and the mechanical durability that made the series a favorite among upland and waterfowl hunters of its era.

Manufactured between 1981 and 1988, the B-80 represented a transitional era in Browning’s lineup, bridging the gap between the long-recoil Auto-5 and the later Gold and Silver gas guns. Built using Beretta’s reliable 300-series action but finished to Browning’s standards—with Belgian-marked receivers and high-quality walnut—it delivered excellent field performance with far less recoil than earlier Browning autoloaders.
