Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this BEAUTIFUL over/under shotgun today for a penny-start auction; this is the Browning Superposed Broadway Trap Diana Grade!
A. Maréchal was a highly regarded Belgian firearms engraver associated with the golden age of Liège gunmaking, a period when Belgium stood at the center of fine sporting arms production for Europe and the American market. Trained within the traditional Liège apprenticeship system, Maréchal learned his craft under established master engravers working for major firms supplying Fabrique Nationale (FN) and Browning Arms Company, where engraving skill was developed through years of hand work on production and presentation-grade firearms. Like many elite Belgian engravers of the era, he progressed from basic scroll and border work to increasingly complex patterns, eventually earning the opportunity to engrave higher-grade sporting arms destined for export, particularly to the United States.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Browning Superposed Broadway Trap Diana Grade represents one of the most elite and visually striking configurations of John M. Browning’s legendary over-under shotgun. Produced by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium, the Superposed Broadway Trap was designed specifically for competitive trapshooting, featuring a high, wide “Broadway” ventilated rib that promotes a heads-up shooting posture and precise target tracking. In the Diana Grade, this competition-focused platform was elevated to a presentation-level firearm, adorned with extensive hand engraving that typically included elaborate scrollwork and detailed game scenes executed by master Belgian engravers. These guns were produced in very limited numbers and marketed to accomplished shooters who desired both peak performance and the highest level of artistic refinement. From a functional standpoint, the Broadway Trap Diana Grade retains the mechanical excellence that made the Superposed famous, including a hand-fitted action, full-width hinge pin, and robust underbolt locking system capable of enduring tens of thousands of competition rounds. The carefully regulated barrels, selective single trigger, and competition-oriented stock dimensions were engineered for consistency and durability on the trap field. Combined with FN’s exceptional fit and finish, the result is a shotgun that balances competitive utility with collector-grade craftsmanship. Today, the Browning Superposed Broadway Trap Diana Grade is regarded as one of the most desirable Superposed variants, highly prized by advanced collectors and serious Browning enthusiasts for its rarity, engraving quality, and place at the very top of the Superposed hierarchy.
