This Colt Government Model .45 commemorative is accompanied by its original Certificate of Authenticity, confirming it as serial number 4MD004 from a strictly limited edition of only 500 pistols produced worldwide to honor the 4th Marine Division. Issued by The American Historical Foundation of Richmond, Virginia, the certificate further verifies that this firearm is selectively plated with 24-karat gold. While richly embellished as a tribute to Marine Corps history, the certificate affirms that this pistol remains a fully functional firing weapon and should be handled with the same respect and care as any working firearm.

The Colt Government M1911A1 is one of the most iconic military pistols ever produced, representing the refined evolution of John M. Browning’s original M1911 design. Adopted by the U.S. military in 1926, the M1911A1 incorporated a series of ergonomic and functional improvements over the earlier model, including a shorter trigger, arched mainspring housing, longer grip safety spur, and improved sights.
