Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Colt / America Remembers 1847 Texas Ranger Commemorative is a beautifully executed Second Generation Colt Walker, created to honor the legendary Texas Rangers and the historic 1847 Walker revolver they carried on the frontier. Limited to just 300 pieces, with this example being No. 253, the commemorative captures the power, stature, and historical presence of the original Samuel Colt design—the largest and most formidable black powder revolver ever issued to U.S. forces. Produced in cooperation with Colt’s Black Powder Arms Division, these Second Generation Walkers retain the correct dimensions, weight, and mechanical authenticity of the originals while benefiting from modern precision machining and presentation-grade finishes. Each commemorative was richly embellished under the America Remembers program, featuring detailed roll markings, Texas Ranger themes, and high-quality engraving that celebrates both the 1847 contract and the legendary lawmen who carried the Walker during the tumultuous frontier era. These revolvers were intended as display-grade pieces, not mass-market firearms, which makes the complete, low-volume production run highly desirable among Colt collectors, Texas Ranger historians, and enthusiasts of American frontier arms. With only 300 manufactured, this No. 253 example represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a striking, historically significant tribute to one of the most iconic revolvers in American history.
