The CZ Shadow 2 is a high-performance, competition-focused handgun produced by Ceská zbrojovka, widely regarded as one of the most refined evolutions of the iconic CZ 75 platform. Designed primarily for competitive shooting disciplines such as IPSC and USPSA Production Division, the Shadow 2 incorporates numerous enhancements over its predecessor, the Shadow 1, to improve accuracy, recoil control, and overall handling. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, it operates using a short-recoil, locked-breech system with a traditional double-action/single-action trigger, though it is often used in single-action mode for competition due to its exceptionally crisp and light trigger pull. One of the most notable design features is its all-steel frame and slide, which give the pistol substantial weight—over 46 ounces unloaded—helping to significantly reduce muzzle flip and improve shot-to-shot recovery. The slide rides inside the frame on internal rails, a hallmark of the CZ design that contributes to a low bore axis and excellent mechanical accuracy. The Shadow 2 typically features a 4.89-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, an extended sight radius, and fully adjustable rear sights paired with a fiber-optic front sight, allowing for precise target acquisition.
