From 1983 to 1986, a total of only about 1,500 Bren Ten pistols were manufactured in various models, making them a limited production, collectible, and highly sought-after pistol.
This example comes from the Wayne Novak Collection, adding notable provenance to the piece—Wayne Novak was a well-known pistolsmith and custom gunmaker who founded Novak’s Inc. in the early 1980s and became famous for his work on custom 1911s, his deep knowledge and collecting of Devel and other rare pistols, and for developing the influential Novak LoMount sight; examples from his collection are therefore Sought-After to collectors and enthusiasts.

The Dornaus & Dixon Bren Ten is one of the most iconic and elusive pistols of the 1980s, conceived as the ultimate combat sidearm. Designed with direct input from legendary firearms expert Col. Jeff Cooper, the Bren Ten was based on the CZ-75 platform but took inspiration from the 1911 in its ability to be carried “cocked and locked” in single-action mode. Chambered in the then-novel 10mm Auto cartridge, the pistol offered a unique blend of power, accuracy, and tactical flexibility, featuring both double-action and single-action operation. Its robust stainless-steel construction, white 3-dot sights, and ergonomic synthetic grips further emphasized its role as a serious defensive and combat handgun.
