The DWM 1906 American Eagle is one of the most iconic and sought-after variants of the Luger pistol ever produced. Manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) specifically for the American commercial market, this model is instantly recognizable by the striking U.S. Great Seal—the heraldic American eagle—proudly engraved above the chamber. This patriotic embellishment was a deliberate marketing effort to capture the attention of American buyers. Mechanically, the 1906 represented a refined evolution of the earlier Model 1900, featuring improvements such as a more durable coil mainspring (replacing the flat spring), a redesigned grip safety, and a more streamlined toggle mechanism for smoother operation.
